Patrick (Woody) Harrison Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Attorney Columbus, IN
About Patrick (Woody) Harrison
The story of Woody Harrison’s life and career gives insight into not only the man, but the type of law he practices and why. Patrick (Woody) Harrison was born on July 14, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri.
The family soon moved to Olney, Illinois, where Woody grew up. The son of a country physician, Woody was always familiar with medical terms. More than that, he had a front-row seat to the compassionate care his father gave his patients. Helping people and easing their suffering were life goals his dad passed down to Woody.
After graduating from Indiana University in 1968 with a B.S. degree in Business, Woody served our country in the United States Army from 1968-1970. Deployed to Vietnam, he actually took the LSAT test to enter law school while he was in Vietnam.
Coming back to the states, Woody attended IU School of Law in Indianapolis, IN, graduating in December 1972. Woody and his family moved to Columbus, IN, where he has practiced law since 1973. His first position was with Goltra Cline King and Beck, where Woody practiced a wide range of law, including divorce, bankruptcies, personal injury and more. However, since very early in his career, Woody has focused primarily in the areas of Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice, amassing a special depth and breadth of experience in these areas.
In 1977, he went out on his own for 2 ½ years, after which he joined Cline King Beck and Harrison. In 1984, he and Mr. Beck formed Beck Harrison, P.C. In January 2010, Woody began his solo practice, continuing to focus on Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice cases.

The Governor, however, chose one of the other nominees who now serves as the Chief Justice.
In 1999, he was named Co-Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. In 2005, Woody, along with a partner, received a $2,600,000 jury verdict which is still, by far, the highest jury verdict ever awarded in Bartholomew County.
